open until February 15th
Are you a BA, MA, or PhD Student studying linguistics or doing language-related research?
Would you like to share your thesis, paper, or project with fellow students in a 20-minute talk?
If your answer to these questions is yes, consider filling in our call for abstracts!
The theme of the 2026 conference is Remnants—not everything in linguistics and language study is plainly visible at a surface look, sometimes you need to dig deeper to find out what’s going on. We're interested in what we can discover by examining traces of phenomena long gone, or looking for that which is no longer there.
This year’s conference will be the 20th iteration of the event. Though the theme has changed every year, the structure of the conference remains similar year after year, featuring Keynote speakers giving lectures and spaces for Student speakers to give shorter 20 minute-long talks.
Each year, the conference provides a truly academic yet open and informal platform for undergraduate (BA), graduate (MA) and postgraduate (PhD) students to present their original research to fellow students and researchers from all over the Netherlands and abroad.
The conference is organized annually by T.W.I.S.T., the study association for Linguistics students at Leiden University, but is open to anyone, regardless of association membership or university affiliation.
